If you live in Madinah, you can renew a driving licence on Absher without visiting a traffic office, as long as you meet a few conditions first. This guide follows the official Absher service page and the National Portal, and it lists the conditions, the fee, and each step.

Who can use the online renewal

According to Absher, the service covers private driving licences and motorcycle licences only. Before you start you need to (Absher: Renew driving licence):

  • pay the renewal fee through government payments (SADAD) via your bank;
  • pay any outstanding traffic violations;
  • have less than 365 days left on your current licence;
  • have a medical examination from an approved medical centre.

The National Portal summarises the same requirements: pay the fee and complete the medical check (my.gov.sa: Driving License Renewal).

What it costs

The Absher service page lists SAR 40 for each year of a private licence, and SAR 200 for a 10-year motorcycle licence. A separate delivery charge is paid by card at the end. The page does not give the delivery amount, so check the figure on screen.

Steps on Absher

  1. Log in to Absher and open My Services.
  2. Choose Traffic, then Renew Driving License.
  3. Read the terms and select Next.

Get your National Address right first
